It's kind of funny.  You would think that people might ask if I was 'all right'.  "Were there any passengers?"  "How did it happen?"  "How's the bike?"  "HOW'S THE ROAD?"  However, the first question, most of the time, is "Were you wearing a helmet?"  If the answer is, "No, I wasn't wearing a helmet!"  Then, there is an assumption and sometimes a declaration that the reason I was hurt is because I wasn't wearing a helmet.  Followed by a secure nod of the head.   It's amazing to observe people transform from just an average person to the 'all-knowing, all-seeing'.
     If I answer with "Yes . . . HELMET" then the seekers are prompted to ask another set of questions.  "Was it strapped?"  "Full face mask?"  Trying, in some way to still blame that non-existent helmet.

     . . . and I suppose it's only natural, blaming someone or something for our existence.
